Dinner Raises Over $175,000
The annual dinner's theme, 'Hope begins with Health',
highlighted ANERA's health activities and inspired great generosity
from the 350 guests who attended the event on September 28, 2007.
More than $175,000 was donated to provide hope and health to thousands
of people living in the West Bank, Gaza, Jordan and Lebanon. The
largest single donation of the evening came from the Foundation
for Middle East Peace.
Through ANERA's medical in-kind program, every $1,000 contributed
pays for more than $125,000 worth of donated medicines to be delivered
to the region. Suppliers of donated medicines are AmeriCares and
the Catholic Medical Mission Board.
The funds raised at the annual dinner will pay for 22 containers
to be delivered over the course of one year. Each container benefits
20,000 people in need.
ANERA extends its gratitude to friends - old and new - who attended
the dinner and gave so generously to provide relief to those who
need it.
