Anera is committed to humanitarian and sustainable development efforts that foster stability and create hope for a better future. Our work in the region provides access to education, healthcare, and livelihoods. As we have throughout our 57 years of operation, we will continue abiding by U.S. laws, as well as international and humanitarian laws and principles, while we carry out this critical effort.

There are false claims circulating that incorrectly suggest Anera is connected with Hamas through our longstanding work in Gaza. We vet and re-vet all of our partner organizations throughout the duration of our partnership. If the process reveals that an organization or individual Anera is affiliated with appears on a federal database that tracks terrorist organizations and affiliates, Anera ceases our work with them immediately.

Anera does not condone or support the rhetoric of the social media posts circulating as evidence of wrongdoing by Anera. Our organizational values are reflected in our collective work, which prioritizes dignity, impartiality, and service to communities in need. As a humanitarian and non-sectarian organization, Anera condemns antisemitism and all other forms of hatred and bigotry. Anera abhors all violence against civilians and upholds the fundamental rights and dignity of all people.

Anera maintains a strict “no contact” policy with Hamas and other organizations designated by U.S. law as terrorist organizations and coordinates with Israeli authorities to ensure compliance with all regulations. Anera has rigorous vetting processes in place, fully compliant with U.S. laws and regulations, to ensure that all partners, staff, and vendors are screened against U.S. government databases that track terrorist organizations and affiliates, including the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and SAM.gov.

Anera has worked in the West Bank and Gaza for over five decades and has been registered and regulated by Israeli government institutions. To our knowledge, no Israeli government institution, nor any other government institution, has ever raised allegations of any kind about an Anera project or partner. Anera is committed to humanitarian and sustainable development efforts that foster stability and create hope for a better future. Our work provides communities with access to education, healthcare, and livelihoods—all of which are critical foundations for long-term peace and coexistence.
